Every other item in the house is basically free use. My nice ass stereo, my kitchen wares, my tv in my room, my I’m Not The Step Father I’m The Father That Stepped Up Shirt my glass, my grinders, my massage gun, ANY other pair of shoes. Basically everything worth having and using in the house is mine. I sometimes have stipulations for use of said item (turn stereo off when finished, dont leave knives out, etc. Stipulations I have kindly asked of him dozens of times and he promptly forgets, or doesn’t care) but mostly everything is free game.
All I ask is these 3-4 items are unshared and reserved only for my use, to which he becomes a smug 14 year old who gives me snarky retorts and basically whines about it. This dude has cash in the bank. He is not wanting for anything and was raised VERY privileged. Is it too much to ask that if he wants to indulge in the finer things like I do, that it not be on my dime? If he wants a taste of the bouj then he should stop being a penny pinching mooch and buy his own damn fancy soap, right?

Best I’m Not The Step Father I’m The Father That Stepped Up Shirt
NTA you have a cheap friend, OP. The kind of cheap where they mooch off their I’m Not The Step Father I’m The Father That Stepped Up Shirt – the worst kind. I know people in their 50’s who’ve always been cheap and aren’t going to change. Like don’t bring food to a potluck and then walk away with two plates cheap. Boundaries don’t really work so I just make sure I don’t ever mix resources with them. And if they ask to share, I tell them no without explanation. My coworker is a two plates guy. When a birthday comes up, he always asks me if we can do a joint gift. That’s a big nope
