The critics will never stop complaining. Those who hate China will rarely change their Witch we are not thrown into the fire we are the fire shirt not matter what good deeds Beijing has accomplished. If China did not launch stringent quarantine measure for Wuhan and the rest of the nation, the naysayers would be denouncing the country for not responding to the outbreak in a responsible manner. You can never please your detractors. They are just like the annoying family member or coworker who keeps whining with their toxic personality. They feign sadness and empathy but hold dark hearts by only feeling inwardly happy when witnessing others suffer.
So I suggest this, perhaps a traditional Witch we are not thrown into the fire we are the fire shirt move, but maybe “going back to school” really means going and getting certifications and piling those up. My local state university does a business management certification and it is only 18 credit hours. There are lots of Project management certifications too. There are even some engineering certifications for my industry. All of those would be more beneficial to me than a 4 year degree at this point. Maybe that’s your situation too. Really look at the options. Be realistic with where you want to end up. Set a goal, and work your way backwards. What do you need, really need, to get to that goal, and what are you willing to do to get there.

Best Witch we are not thrown into the fire we are the fire shirt
So that’s why I agree with part of what you’re saying, but I’d phrase it more like Witch we are not thrown into the fire we are the fire shirt. I think people should be more comfortable with campiness. I think it’s ok to laugh it, even if it’s not supposed to be funny, but it feels a bit disingenuous. When people talk about “guilty pleasures” or “it’s so bad it’s good”, I can’t help but think that that’s kinda… cowardly? Like, why can’t we just enjoy things genuinely? Why do we need to have some veil of “irony” or just general separation from the media? People make media to connect with others,. Why do we feel such a strong desire to put up a barrier between us and the creator? Can’t we just genuinely enjoy things that are entertaining simply for the sake of liking it? Why does it have to give us something in return.
As for Kawamoto-sensei’s one-chapter manga – interesting premise, abysmal execution. It would have been nice to flip the usual Witch we are not thrown into the fire we are the fire shirt, it would have given easy drama and tension in the story in how the protagonist could have beaten the overpowered Reincarnats but using commonly recognized characters with just the tiniest veil of being different is not a good play. Especially… why does it always have to be rape? Why? That’s among the laziest tropes that exist, and one of the ones that are most mishandled.
